The dream boat trip is located off Sibolga harbor West Sumatra. It sails at night to the Banyak Islands to surf a dozen waves. (Treasure, Cobra, Bay of plenty, Turtles, some secret spots, and for flat days we go to Pulau babi which is a swell magnet).

Pierre, the skipper has 8 years experience cruising the Banyaks and know exactly where to go in which conditions. Variety of food every day with generous portions. Crew are super friendly and always helpful. Great fishing, snorkeling and spectacular nature such as Bangkaru Island Reserve - truly a tropical paradise!

There are only 3 charter boats in this area so the crowds are minimal.

The boat has 4 separate cabins with bunkbeds and 1 double cabin that can be converted into a twin.

The surf guide, Pierre, knows the Banyak Islands like the back of his hand. His detailed knowledge will assist in finding the best waves possible for specific weather conditions.

All cabins are air conditioned as well as the common area. There are two bath rooms.

The food is varied from French to Indonesia influence as well as your typical burger and pizza, salad, fresh fruits, fresh fish, beef, fajitas and chicken.

The Banyak Islands are one of the most remote surf destinations in Indonesia. There are only three charter boats based full time in the area.

The archipelago is surfable throughout the year but the best conditions are from March to end of November. With an average size of 1 to 2.5 meters, which is more consistent from April to October.

You will have to bring a spare leash, fins, wax and a repair kit. For the board selection, it’s up to you, but we recommend you bring a quiver with 2-3 surfboards.

You will mostly surf in baggies as the water temperature is 27 degrees centigrade on average. A rashvest is highly recommended for sun protection. It’s best to also bring booties as the reefs are alive!
